Math

Some cool stuff I did:

• Rutgers Current Trends in Mathematics: Beyond the Freshman Horizons. Fun program. Wrote a post already.
• BIMSA BMPSW: I enjoyed the mini-courses a lot, but the talks felt hit or miss. Scribed notes.
• BIMSA RTISART: The talks were slightly better than the ones at BMPSW.
• ICBS: The highlight of the summer. Some of the best talks I've ever heard. String math is so cool. I wrote some notes for talks that I enjoyed the most, but I haven't figured out how to organize them before I post them.
• SBC. Attended again since it was in my home city. The highlight was definitely the food, and this year I got out of my comfort zone and went to some invite only events. I got a pretty nice dinner with Babylon Labs, spent some time on a rooftop in FiDi with Hetu Labs, and saw some company offices (Archetype, Lita, etc.). I do think that I should take a step away from crypto for a bit, although I'm still extremely bullish on zk tech long term. I just don't feel like it's the right place for me right now.
• Rutgers Summer Symplectic School. I was extremely lost for big portions of the summer school, but I'm happy that I attended. I have acquired the ability to parrot complicated phrases when I don't understand a single word I'm stringing together. Scribed notes - maybe someday I'll return and say that I can understand them.

Life

End of High School

• For my last month of high school, I learned quantum mechanics. I don't know why I decided to do this, but it was fun and I presented a poster about it.
• I got voted the senior superlative "most likely to take over the world." I guess I should start soon.
• After I turned 18, I went to a gun range. I didn't like it.
• Graduation week was extremely mid. I was forced to sit in like 20 different ceremonies. I won some awards but I don't even remember which ones I won.

I'm pretty happy that high school was over. I felt like I was in the wrong place the entire time. While there were definitely some good moments, I'm ready to leave it all behind and not see these people ever again.

NYC

After graduation, I spent a lot of time exploring NYC. It was my first real chance to explore the city, and I loved it.

I spent a lot of time aimlessly wandering on my own. A few favorites:

• The Greenwood Cemetery
• South Street Seaport
• Roosevelt Island

Towards the end of the summer, I ate ramen with a friend near SoHo, which was fun.
